Faro Driver Download For Windows 8.1
- The latest approved FARO drivers are 5.8.3.2, 5.8.5.2 for older (non Quantum) arms.
- The latest approved FARO driver for the QUANTUM arms is 6.0.1.9.
- If you are switching from a newer version to an older version, but sure to uninstall the newer FARO driver first. Download Approved Drivers. - Click here to download the appropriate USB FaroArm driver for your 32- or 64-bit operating system. Uninstall any existing drivers on your computer using the Microsoft Windows Add/Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. Run the executable file from your computer. After updating the USB FaroArm driver, check for communication.

Downgrading Versions - Uninstall Newer Versions First
If you are switching from a newer version to an older version, but sure to uninstall the newer FARO driver first.

Non-approved Versions
- DO NOT USE Version 5.8.4.5 with VTube-LASER. Customers have experienced issues related to entering and using the calibration windows with this version.
- DO NOT USE Version 6.0.0.63 with VTube-LASER. Customers have experienced issues related to exiting the Scanner Control window during scanning. This issue has been fixed in 6.0.1.9.

After servicing or recalibration of your device, plan to download and install the latest driver BEFORE you use the device. The factory provides the most recent hardware improvements when servicing your device, so using the latest driver may be required.
CAUTION: If you use software or hardware from a third-party vendor who makes FARO compatible products, verify the product is compatible with the latest USB FaroArm driver BEFORE you change the driver.
- If you are using the vendor recommended driver, do not change it.
- If you are not using the recommended driver and the vendor's product is not compatible with the latest USB FaroArm driver, see the earlier drivers list in this article to find the driver the vendor recommends.
